The story of when two art forms
complemented each other!

The Beginning

The story begins with members of the 'Illustration Nation', which is comprised of strokes, colors, and clicks, and the 'Writing Nation', which includes members such as letters, numbers, and punctuation symbols.

Throughout the course of humanity, both nations have infused the world with thought-provoking beauty giving rise to positive and negative outcomes.

As time marched forward, they continued to tell their stories, and in some cases, they would combine to tell one fantastic story... potentially your story!

The Present Day

Whether it's an illustration on the cover of a book that beckons someone to open it, or an infographic on the inside that helps explain a concept, the artists here at Birch and Ink have the passion and talent to make sure that both art forms enhance one another.

Illustration Types

Meet the characters — the strokes, the colors, and the clicks — of the 'Illustration Nation'.

Drawings

Drawings have an inherent refinement. While they can be applied in a purely artistic manner, the precision of lines makes them a great option for infographics.

Paintings

While paintings too can be created to possess refinement — which is the case with lifelike works such as portraits —, the nature of paint endows the artist with an even greater range of expression through the use of texture.

Photographs

There is something about the duality of a photograph that other illustration types don't have, and yes, they are technically considered illustrations.

Photographs are able to combine the beauty of art while creating a sense of credibility to whatever they accompany.
